Liquid Joe was founded by Joe D’Andrea as an independent consultancy in 2006. Joe has over twenty years of combined experience in information architecture, software engineering, user experience and online technologies — experience that shows in the company’s products and services.

World Class R&D: The founder’s immersion in the design and mechanics of online systems began in the mid-1990s at AT&T Bell Labs. While there, Joe worked on hundreds of complex technical projects, involving nearly every organization in that legendary R&D powerhouse and its corporate parent, AT&T.

Fortune 50 Web Sites: Joe served as technical webmaster in the early days of att.com, the main conduit for all of AT&Tʼs customer-facing businesses: consumer, business, wireless, cable, government, international, as well as the corporate communications entities (PR, Investor Relations, HR, employment).

Global Standards: As lead technical producer for att.com, Joe conceived and led the AT&T Web Standards Initiative, an ambitious project creating a company-wide set of guidelines, libraries, and methodologies to streamline site development, design, and publishing. The Initiative produced efficient and consistent display of web content across a community of over 200 AT&T organizations performing real-time publishing around the world.

Search That Works: Joe also became att.com’s resident expert in practical search solutions, replacing earlier search technology with cost-effective Google Search Appliances, brought in-line with standards compliant markup and style. Upon founding Liquid Joe, a completely reimagined multifunction interface was produced for the Google Search Appliance product line. In recognition of Joeʼs open source contributions, Google invited Liquid Joe to join its Enterprise Partner consulting program.

Top-Ranked Mobile Apps: Liquid Joe’s latest service offering is mobile app development. In 2009 the company developed Roadside America for iPhone, integrating a popular travel guide web site and its database with an elegant and fun tool for finding offbeat tourist attractions. In conjunction with interactive agency Magnani Caruso Dutton, Liquid Joe also developed a mobile app for Discover Financial Services, the first of its kind on the iPhone, as well as one for Googleʼs Android OS. Both apps have achieved a number one ranking on their respective iTunes App Store charts, and each has received praise from reviewers and notable media outlets alike.
Current projects may involve Liquid Joe leading a small, technically-oriented team, working as a team member with specialists thousands of miles away, or programming and problem-solving in solo mode. This seamless integration into client projects is the essence of Liquid Joe.
